About Ilitha

Bob Clayton
PrQS, PMAQS, MRICS

Bob is a registered Quantity Surveyor and a member of the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession. He qualified in the UK in 1972 and is exceptionally well experienced having been in the Construction Industry for over thirty years. He worked for several well-known Consultancies in South Africa before finally starting his own practise, Ilitha Quantity Surveyors, in February 2003. His extensive experience and expertise is a great asset to the company, with obvious benefit to the Client and to the young trainees to whom skills are being transferred. In 2005 he consulted on the 350 billion rand Tinapa Business Centre project in Calabar, Nigeria. Bob heads up the Technical division of the business and takes great pride in the production of a quality product, completed on time and within budget.

Garth is also a registered Quantity Surveyor and a member of the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession. He graduated from Peninsula Technikon with a National Higher Diploma in Building Surveying in 1994 and was awarded a British Bursary for excelling students during his first semester of study. After completing his studies, he worked for Grinaker Building and later Murray & Roberts, gaining valuable experience in all practical aspects of Building Construction and Construction Management. He then switched to professional Quantity Surveying, finally joined Bob in 2004 as a full partner in Ilitha Quantity Surveyors. Garth heads up the Project Management division and takes care of the day-to-day running of the business.

Lesley Clayton
Technical Support and Administration

Lesley has a Higher National Diploma in Building Construction from Sheffield Hallam University in the UK and spent much of her working career in housing, specializing in measurement, purchasing of materials and administration of Sub-contractors. She moved across to Professional Quantity Surveying some years ago and provides technical support and manages the administrative side of the practice.

Samkelo Kubuli
Quantity Surveying Technician

Samkelo joined Ilitha QS in March 2017. He graduated from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University with a BTech in Quantity Surveying in 2016. He was awarded the best Quantity Surveying student in any year of study. Samkelo is now realising his experiential training with Ilitha Quantity Surveyors and is one of the young, up-and-coming professionals to watch out for in the future.

Candice van der Berg
Project Manager in Training

Candice joined Ilitha QS in January 2007. She is currently studying at the University of the Free State and expects to graduate with an NQF Level 5 in Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Construction Management in 2018.
